every category was equally wrong for this question, so i put it right
in the middle.

If there is a forum that fits better, please move the post.

I have the following problem.

We have a swing application that connects via XML-RPC to a servlet.
Works beautiful, unless the user sits behind a proxy.
Then there is some more configuration to be done, works through proxy as well.

Since the customer is a big organisation there isn't a specific proxy assigned to a client, instead the automatic proxy configuration via a
proxconfig.pac file is used.

Is there a class somewhere out there that takes the file and does some
parsing and returns the "Proxy du jour".

Just trying not to reinvent ther wheel

Thank you,

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
