What is the meaning of java Plugin? ... How can they be used with Java?

Plugin is a generic term for components you can add or swap in and out of a system without modifying the system. Eclipse is a good example - you can plug in all kinds of functionality without having to rebuild Eclipse. You can build your own systems to have the same ability.

So I don't know that "Java plugin" refers to a specific API or product. Oops, a quick Google got me The Java Plugin Framework at SourceForge. Maybe you meant that!

Where did you see it?

Thanks a lot for the link.... I was actually going through the Java Media FrameWork ....and with respect to encoding the video to the H264 format ... it was given that, an external plugin could be used for processing video streams. I was not sure, what that meant.
