According to CNN.com, DC policemen have captured the two suspected gunmen. Although there is no final confirmation on whether they are the killers but tons of evidence have put them in that position-- we can be quite confident on that.
This is indeed a great news for people. The confusing thing from this case is the snipers play a dual role in the murder -- they create the murder cases, they contacted the policemen, they offer traces, they gave bank account to police, they set deadline, they even bragged on the phone to suggest policemen
investigate Montgomery, AL robbery case. It seems they have been quite active in offering some tips.
I don't understand -- what made the snipers so bold and anxious to "participate" in solving the case by offering those information ? Why are they so bold in chanllenging the law enforcement ? They are actually making fun of the law enforcement, and when they saw cops are really confused by the puzzle, they phoned to offer some hints.
Should our law enforcement re-evaluate our capability in solving such crime ? There must be a lot things the law enforecement should improve in the future to better protect people.

The guys were found at a rest stop outside Frederick, MD by a citizen who recognized the vehicle from the description on TV. It sounds like the police might have had an idea who was involved since Sunday though, and if they had the information and released it to the public earlier, the last gentleman may not have been killed. I will hold off criticism for now though until we hear more.
They are keeping the location of the probable killers secret from the public. Probably a very good idea judging on local sentiment.
As we are hearing more details though, it certainly doesn't sound like these guys were geniuses by any stretch of the imagination. They were just getting plain stupid towards the end, with their demands and communications with the police.

Interesting sniper stuff...
They are elgible to be tried in VA, MD, and federally (for the killing of the FBI analyst). The death penalties exist in all three juristictions although there is a moritorium on it currently in MD. The younger suspect is 17. People who are charged with committing capital crimes when they were younger than 18 may not receive the death penalty in MD or in federal court, but they can in VA (although people under 18 can't be executed).
Speaking to people here, and listending to local news, every single person interviewed on the news and people I've spoken with personally are calling for the death penalty. Usually there's some one who will not be calling for it, but that doesn't seem to be the case this time. I guess time will tell.
I wouldn't be surprised if they had to move the trial elsewhere though. I can't see how they could get a completely unbiased jury here.
