Hi, I'm trying to create a small utility that will :

1. Create a list of filenames <including subdirectories>

2. Create "process" that runs evryday that will scan the directory for changes compared to the list created in '1.'

3. Report changes

If anyone could help me out with how to get started on this, I would appreciate it.

Thanks!

Hi Rick,

Welcome to JavaRanch!

Well, java.io.File has several different listXXX() methods that will list the files in a directory. You could start there.

Okay, I've got them listed. Any clue on how to start number 2 in the first post?

Thanks
