I just looked on Amazon because sometimes you can "look inside" the book (see at least the table of contents). Too bad this book doesn't have that feature implemented.

I don't have a "best practices" chapter, but do indeed cover best practices -- both in terms of Java syntax and in terms of overall software engineering principles -- throughout the book.
