Hi Folks,

I have received very strange output when I executed following program with different arguments. Kindly have a look at below.

When executed the above program with
1) java Test *
Output :- It lists all the files from current directory.

2) java Test &
Output :-
Nothing!
args.length :0
It doesn't accept & as an argument.

3) java Test ^
Output :-
More?
More?
Content 0:

args.length :1

Can somebody explain why is it so?

Thanks and best regards,

assumed you ran this from a unix shell
the "&" means "Run this task in background"

The ^ has a meaning as well i think, but i don't know which -grin-

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
