I did assignment 2.2, but I only used 16 lines of code. I don't feel it is cluttered or anthing like that, but with the instructors code being 35 lines, I feel that I must be missing something. Just wondering if I should concern myself with how many lines of code the instructors answer is. I usually end up right around the same, that is another reason why I feel I must be missing something.

My 2.2 (then called 1.6 Grains) took 18 lines, but when I filtered all the comments and blank lines out of the instructor's solution, he only took 17 lines.
Conclusion: You didn't comment enough.

Does the output have to be in non-exponential notation?

Yes, non-exponential. No decimal points.
