At least no one said lousy writer. That one mighta hurt. Well no, it wouldn't, but if I was feeling charitable I might let y'all think it hurt. Only Thomas and I were here for the 80's, is that what you're telling me? You little punks make me sad. [ November 17, 2002: Message edited by: Michael Ernest ]
Well Thomas already provided a pretty good clue, I think...

I remember the 80's, probably because I didnt start Uni till the nineties.... the nineties are a bit of a blur And I remember Sinead O Connor, beautiful voice, just a shame the rest of her was a bit errr scary
Well it's true that many people consider her to be physically attractive. (Personally I'd agree, but putting her in the top 50 worldwide seems a bit of an overstatement. ) It's not a conventional sort of beauty though, so you'd expect some dissent. And she managed to offend a lot of people (esp. Catholics) in various ways - that tends to alter one's perceptions. I note also that Mark didn't say "ugly" or "unattractive" but rather "scary" - this may be a clude that there are other issues at work here. [ November 18, 2002: Message edited by: Jim Yingst ]
Isn't she the one who tore Pope John Paul's picture on SNL?
Yep, that's her. Talk about swinging a big stick on a major network for a minority opinion. Still couldn't tell you if she was crazy or gutsy. Nah -- too young to be gutsy. She had no idea what she would get back... Interesting decades for oddball events: Roseanne sang the National Anthem at Jack Murphy Stadium, Robert Mapplethorpe's photographs went on display in Cincinnati. And some guy named Serrano not only dropped a crucifix in a jar of urine, photographed it, and called it 'art,' he got the federal government to subsidize it. And all that time most people thought that calling it an imbecilic product of a stunted creative mind was beside the point... [ November 18, 2002: Message edited by: Michael Ernest ]
Next topic: I can't get a long little doggy, I can't even get one that's small, I can't get a long little doggy, I can't get a doggy at all. First one to give the correct attribution will be deemed Trivia Geek Who Is Scary Beyond Words
O.k. this seems to be a quiz game. 80ties, weariness, disbelief, self-doubt... What about the singer of the pop group "The Smith"? Don't remember name. [ November 19, 2002: Message edited by: Axel Janssen ]
