I consider Alexander The Great as the greatest warrior, conqueror of all time. The other few warriors to be compared with him are Nepolion, Chengis Khan, CharleMagne, Julias Ceaser, Asoka.
I want you to add a few more names to this list.

In term of conquered area, Chengis Khan is the No. 1., far ahead of anyone else.

The Beatles.
Think about it. Four unarmed men, conquered a major part of one of the worlds superpowers. Their influence and power was immense .

all of them are "The Great" because we use "The Great" suffix for those who have become extinct or likely to become extinct like "The great Ass"
because ass is going to be extinct very soon.

With the exception of the Roman conquerors, all the other conquerors brought merely destruction,
not even worthy of rememberance. Influence of the Roman Empire on nearly all the countries in Europe and in other places continued for hundreds years while they were part of the Empire and for hundreds of years afterwards. Within the Roman Empire, peace was known for a long time, laws were standardized, and less advanced societies benefited from contact with the more advanced Romans and the exchange of knowledge that took place. Unfortunately the fall of the Roman Empire led to the Dark Ages in Europe and set all of us back by 300 years.
Ghenghis Khan was a barbarian who managed to disrupt the far more advanced civilization of India. A tragedy to the world as well.
Alexander gets credit for the best general I think because he did more with less resources. The Mongols had superior military technology and large armies. Alexander had mainly just his ability as his prime asset.

Hi Herb:
I have to agree with you on this. Each time Mongolia army surround a city, they order enemy to surrender. If their enemy surrender before they fire the first shot, then nobody get hurt. But once they fire the first shot, then Mongolia army will kill them all.

Some of the Indian cities had 100,000+ people skinned alive or something dreadfull like that. You're right, they killed them all, civilians, women, and children.
They also bothered the more advanced Chinese as well.

Yes, they conquer the entire world. The one I like the most is John Lennon's "Memory".

I completely aggree with the following quote by Herb:
