Hi, i heard about JDEdwards few days back. is JD Edwards java related technology r wat? can anyone let me know what for we use that.. thanks in advance.
As a side note, you may have missed that JavaRanch has a policy on display names, and yours does not comply with it - please adjust it accordingly, which you can do right here. Thanks for your prompt attention to this matter. [ February 08, 2006: Message edited by: Ulf Dittmer ]
JD Edwards in principal has nothing to do with Java, but in summary :
- It was one of the leading ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) solutions. With many business modules like Financial, Procurement, Inventory, Property Management, Job Costing and many more modules.
- It is written in C++ but it is so robust that it comes with it's own engine where a JDE consultant can write new JDE modules using their proprietry coding language (NER).
- Its only relation to java is that they have a web interface that is based on java technology and that it has an interoperability interface for many languages (c++, .Net, VB and Java).
- There are many JCA adaptors written for the various JDE versions. - Last but not least.. JDE was acquired by PeopleSoft and later PeopleSoft was acquired by Oracle.
Hope that answers you.
