Hi all I didnt know where to go with this so here goes Im a student and working on chess program for my final year, is not all that, it just for two players it doesnt have vs machine option at the moment. Im working on just getting this part right then if I have time Ill come up with some sort of ai for it. when i started out I thought it was gone be simple, but the coding has cramped up. Anyway im telling you this because I need your feedback, have a look at it and see what you think all comment are welcomed, it will help me get a better grade my supervisor tells me. Is not finished yet this is my lets say v1.0 beta release Here is the link to the program http://www.freefileupload.net/file.php?file=files/130306/1142292864/chesstry.zip Download it. Unzip it. Run the jar file. Any problems let me know Some of the sound is not playing in the jar format, I dont know whylike when you press about this game button you should here a sound. Anyway Ill keep working on it and update you guys as I go. And if any of you know a better/right place to post this let me know also. Thank you in advance..

I'll try it tonight. Can you first tell me if you support the following: - Castling short or long - Pawn promotion (into any piece) - En passant - Pins - Moves after checks (must do something against it on the next move) - What notation is it ? PGN ? Thanks

Hi Leonardo, I've tried it. Developement is still in early stage, isn't it ? If the things I've talked about in my first post would be supported, that would be nice. 1. The annoying thing I have noticed is that I could move the same color more the once. In real, it is White->Black->White->Black... and so on. But I could play only White any time. I tried a Scotch (1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. d4 ), but when I clicked on the black e5 pawn to take the white pawn on d4, the white pawn took the black one instead !! 2. The application was awfully flickering on my laptop (Windows XP) 3. I think you should concentrate on the functionality first, rather than spending too much time on the graphics. Make it look good once you've reached good usability. Good luck and have fun

Hi Leo I downloaded your chess game and have to say I found it really good. For it being in early developement well done for what you've done so far You do need better music, but you could do without it as I don't think many people will use it. I found easy to play, had no problem's with it, nice design and found the musice funny, lol. It's a nice and simple chess game and I look forward to seeing your update..............can't wait. Dan
