Hi
pls refer to some good resources on exception handling.
Are there any standards that you should not catch NullPointerExceptions and others?

Also refer to some good resources on thread programming.

Thanks

Greetings there,

i guess sun tutorial will be great to get started.
to Catch a NullPointerException or anyother exception will depend on the application you are doing.
if the application depends on the value of a reference at a given time then you must, otherwise, you can leave it as it is.
But it's always *good*(read:nice to the user) that all possible exceptions be caught and an appropriate message be displayed.
done with my point of view this (http://mindprod.com/jgloss/nullpointerexception.html) might be a good read...
