So who you think will win it all?
As all free-minded folks out there, I have my own opinion on what happened. Although my heart goes out to Philadelphia fans, something happened that should've happen. Bucs were clearly a better team.
There's a reason why 3rd major sport market like Philadelphia haven't had a major sport trophy in some 22 years. I think it's name is "business". I think Philly managers run their sport teams just like any other business i.e. "buy low - sell high". So they get a team of average players and market it as a contender. Eagles were clearly not a super bowl team, not with their very average offense.
I also saw a shaddow of Bobby Clarke on that football field - GM of Philadelphia Flyers. The guy, who for last 10 years have had no more than 3 above-average lines of players, and always says "we are a contender for Stanley Cup this year"... And people still buying this crap. Touche.
My pick - Raiders (and I know nothing about football)

Nothing can top last years Super Bowl. That being said, I would like to see the Raiduhs lose it on a controversial call, just because they're the Raiduhs.

When I was kid, we used roman numbers to denote the class in which we were studying.
Like if I am studying in fourth class then on the note book label will be
Class - IV
Once in some book I saw roman numbers up to 1000. I was horrified. I thought that I had to study upto 1000 class

I would like to see Tampa win but I think the Raider's offense is strong enough to overcome the Tampa defense.

And of course I meant SB XXXVII (37), not 38 as the title of this thread says...

How can you feel bad for fans that have booed Santa Clause?
I think Oakland will win, I don't know if I've ever seen a QB more in a zone than Gannon, and with the emergence of Jerry Porter, I don't think even Tampa's defense will be able to cover Rice, Brown and Porter.
Tampa's only hope will be to get to Gannon often(easier said than done). Oakland's pass D is suspect with the injuries, so I think the score will be relatively high.
Raiders 31, Tampa 24

They are setting up for the party where my office is. There are already swarms of people. Parking lots have been converted to beer gardens. Blimps and helicopters cruise the skies. About 20 guys are working 24 hours a day to get a restaurant ready for the crowds.

Hi Ravish,
Every topic has your posting, which makes me conclude that you have lots of free time and less work. Am I right?

Hi,
Looks like you are angry with me. Cool dear!
I am free since past few days. So I decided to find out people who have time to make postings. I have searched all topics made during last few years. I notice your name every where. I can safely conclude that you have plenty of free time to make postings IN MD.
What kind of work do you do ,Ravish?
Regards from BEAR

I have heard several radio commercials where they can't say "Superbowl" for legal reasons. They bleep it out, or they'll say it in pig latin or say some thing cute like "watching this football game would be SUPER with a BOWL of our dip".
The country has gone crazy. What happened to free speech?

Commercial free speech does not have the same rights as indivduals free speech. Commercial free speech is limited in its ability to use other products to promote their product since it creates a seeming linkage. "Buy my product and win a chance at a free Dell computer" implies some relationship between me and Dell where none exists.

I see your point, but I think there should be more free speech.
The Superbowl is the most hyped event of the year. If you sell TV's for a living, and you want to run an ad that says "buy my big-screen TV in time for the Superbowl", I think you should be allowed to.
As long as you don't say anything slanderous, I think it should be legal.

Actually I don't think that would be a problem. I think it's when you give away tickets that it's a problem.

It would be difficult to use the words "Give away" in the same sentence as "Superbowl"! Local DJ's are saying that the going price now is around $3000 - per ticket!!! Geez!! for $6000, my hubby & I could fly to Hawaii & watch it on TV!!!

Buccaneers won!!
I heard Buccaneers never won a game north of XX degree latitude. Now they must be glad the superbowl is in San Diego.

Actually it was temperature below 40 F. But they won last week in Philly to end that string.

Statistically when the NFC wins, the stock market goes up for the year. Will the DJIA close up today?

The upside down clown was pretty good. My favorite though was probably the one with the guy's girlfriend and her mother, where his friend warns him to take a good look at the mother because that's what his girlfriend will look like in 20 years.

I think Eagles and Raiders are beating themselves up about letting John Gruden go... It was all over the radio today in Philly... We had Gruden as offensive coordinator, I think.
Philly sport team owner's logic: guess how much Eagles got for Gruden? Answer: zilch, nada, nothing. They desided to go with an under- in-experienced guy who never coached: Andy Reed. Well, they had a great dumb luck with him.. At least Oakland got 8 million and some 4-5 first and second round draft picks... Talk about irony.
