Finally we will have some snow in NY. They are talking about 15-20 inches. It's not so much, but better than nothing. Just look out of a window! It's so beautiful out there!

I hate it. It brings death. We already have at least one killed here on Long Island and the flooding from the storm tide tonight will put people out of their homes. There are dead scattered all across the path of this storm.
They're talking about another storm for next weekend in the midwest. This one went further south than they originally thought. Good for us here it would have been ice. But was just 6-10 inches of snow. With the blowing though the county roads where blocked. They even cancelled the majority of sectional basketball here in Indiana. That snow storm has caused havoc here in the MD/DC/VA area. Now we are getting slammed by torrential downpours on top of it, added to slightly warmer temperatures, which is maknig the massive amounts of snow begin to melt. Flooding conditions are everywhere and it seems like today there are a rash of roofs collapsing. A Toys 'R Us roof has collapsed with entrapment here in MD, a Wal-Mart in Va looks like its roof has collapsed, a barn roof has collapsed trapping four horses, the roof of an elementary school has collapsed, as well as roofs of several other commerical and residential buildings in the area. This storm sucked.
Admit it Jason - you just posted here to show off your new title, right? Anyway, as for snow - I think it's great to look at, or to ski on. But dealing with it otherwise pretty much sucks. Nice place to visit; wouldn't want to live there. Of course, Arizona has had its own share of problems brought on by weather this last year...

Snowing now here in Indiana. I am going to the basketball regional finals tonight. Can't let snow stop it.

I know I'm just setting myself up here... Snow is absolutely spectacular !! The more the better... Our aquifers are drying up, our fresh water is being depleted... Let It Snow ! Let It Snow ! Let It Snow !
plus - it's amazingly beautiful !

If you only knew how much fun it is to watch Americans taking about snow! [Map runs away again] But before she run... Congratulations, Jason!
I love snow. The 2 hour drive to the game on a glaze of snow and ice was great. The nail biter 3 point win didn't let my heart rate drop at all. Then 2 hour skate back was great. It sure looks great out today though. I am even thinking of breaking one of the kids old sleds out.

I love the snow too, I love snow skiing! BUT I'm in the MD area and this storm was AWFUL!!! True we need snow and rain for the drought -- but it would be nicer in moderation. I spent the weekend trying to save my finished basement. After the big rain storm on top of the snow (we had about 30"), then the warmer temps, everything melted in a VERY big way and I ended up with about an inch of water throughout my basement. The ground is so completely saturated that the water had no place to go -- but up into basements (my basement hasn't leaked before). The carpet is hopeless, we had to order all new carpet, we're hoping that after the deductible that we end up with something to help with this mess.
