I was just wondering how everyone feels about companies creating JAVA Components, Beans, API's etc, and then sales them.
Here are a few examples for which I would be refering:
http://www.zfqjava.com/
http://irongrid.com/catalog/promotion_email.php?track_id=JRAN031003A1
These were some in our Blatent Advertising Forum. I have seen others while looking for some solutions on the web.
One one hand I can see selling a solution, but not selling an API or a Bean type component. But on the other hand, why shouldn't JAVA developers sale their products regardless of what they are. I think that when I see the word JAVA, I assume open source. And this can't be the case all the time, or none of us would ever make any money.
What are some of your thoughts on this topic?
