Hi,
I've a servlet which fetches data from database and then incorporates that data in an XML using a stringbuffer and returns the XML to browser. Now sometime in a column data from database a single '&' came so it failed to render the XML. i've replaced that with & and it's working perfect now.

i want to know is there any encoder or some other mean by which ti can convert the data to XML compatible data so that the XML is well-formed.

the data is huge so i didn't think of using any XML tool or something.

a quick reply to it is appreciated. Thanks.

I think javax.xml.transform.Transformer should help you.

Or maybe StringEscapeUtils to escape the data before building the XML string.
