Vineel, Java is an island in Indonesia, but I don't think that is what you meant. I've never heard of "island" used as a concept. Was it used in any context?

Did you mean islands of isolation ? That is related to Garbage Collection (GC)

Perhaps the OP was refering to an XML data island. This is a browser side technology that Java makes no specific provision for. Bill
