This week's book giveaway is in the OO, Patterns, UML and Refactoring forum. We're giving away four copies of Refactoring for Software Design Smells: Managing Technical Debt and have Girish Suryanarayana, Ganesh Samarthyam & Tushar Sharma on-line! See this thread for details.
The subject concerned getting a Windows download of some sort. It seemed best suited to General Computing, where most people would go to get such information. There are plenty of acronym substitutions for 'WMD,' I'm sure. A poster who likes wily meaningless drivel should be able to come up with one without hitting on a topic of substance.
Nice Ranchhand, I presume you are Ersin the renegade bartender. Why were you posting messages in Hindi ? Why do you pretend to be a Turk when you are really a Bihari Bhaiyya ? "Ersin; so call him now, his former name Is heard no more in heaven. Thou were anointed a bartender By the mighty Wheaton. What caused this fall from grace ? There's a fine line between a few chosen words on the absurdities that plague MD today and spamming the live ut of the forum so that people may listen to no point but the one the child wants to make. Play is important to the adult mind. If you think I'm making that up, ask the founder of this site. A playground, like what MD is supposed to be, is a difficult thing to manage in a hard time. One one hand, you want the players to be and feel secure. On the other hand, posting sentries with automatic weapons every 10 feet along its borders rather kills the mood. So what's supposed to be the big idea, "no justice, no peace?" No one can have what they want until Freddy Greenhorn gets what he wants?

I only meant that a topic of substance can be hurt when you hit on it!
Thanks to the person who deleted that thread about dumb people. I came back to delete it and found it gone. I wanted to delete it because I felt it exposed one of my biggest moral deficiencies. Perhaps your reason for deleting it was not the same. But thanks anyway. [ April 07, 2003: Message edited by: Mohanlal Karamchand ]
