Indian is different Native American. Indian = people from/in India. Native American = people who got jacked by the US a hundred years ago and are now consigned to reservations
That being said, my favorite and only Indian movie I've seen is: Monsoon Wedding.
My favorite Native American themed movie is Spirit (yes, the cartoon horse).

My favorite (and I think only) Indian movie is also "Monsoon Wedding."
But does it count if an American movie includes *scenes* from Indian musicals? Because "The Guru" has just become one of my favorite movies.

Ofcourse "Monsoon Wedding" is a Indian movie tailor made for western audiance and "elite" confused Indians. The charcters would hardly represent an average Indian. My favourite is "1947 - The Earth" it is the best Hindi movie with one glitch, I did not understand the language.

The characters are representing average Indian lower middle class and upper middle class a modern mobile Indians all using cellphones starting frm wedding planner (vijaya raaz) to girls father( naseerudin shah). The lifestyle of wedding planner is representing a typical LIG middle class person. And girls family upper middle delhi Punjabi family. Im a fan of naseeruddin shah. Gulzars movie ijjazzat( another naseerudin shah movie)is one of my favorite. Then aandhi( sanjeev kumar) , kamal hassens movies ( saagar, ek duje keliye, nayakan, moonnam pira, Indian, thevar makkan) and couple of Malayalam movies

You forgot to mention "Pushpak".
Who really want to enjoy 3 hrs of laugh and fun can go for this movie.
Best part, in this movie there is no dialogue so language in no bar. Anyone can enjoy this movie
And another movie which I liked was "MahaNadi".

I've only ever seen one Indian film.
I forget what it was called but the main character was called Mr India and he had a watch that made him invisible. There was also a cute woman dancing in the rain wearing a sari (clingy!).
Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

Do you know, it was directed by Shekhar Kapoor, the same person who directed "Elizabeth" 1998-99, got oscar for costume design(if I am not wrong.)
For my EX
Yes Suta Aur Gita is the one when Dharmender and Hema Malini romance was on peak And Hema ditched Hari Bhai(Sanjeev Kumar, who never married after that )
Have you guys seen "Bollywood Calling". Its in english. Good comedy movie.

Dances with Wolves? Last of the Mohicans? The best Indian movie is "Fort Apache". John Wayne and Henry Fonda! How can that be anything but great?

As far as the other Indians go, does "Out of India" count? How about "Gandhi"?
