hi,
everybody, i am new to this stuff and would like someone to tell me as to where to look for a few small java programs along with its output.

A best place to start would be the Java Tutorial from Sun. Go to java.sun.com and look for the Tutorial.

This question ought to have gone on the beginners' forum.
I presume that means you haven't got a book with examples in. There are examples on Javaranch here, or have a look at these FAQ, especially No 2 and No 22. See whether those links are any use.
