Eugene is right. Sun is struggling to redefine itself. Once it comes to grips with the facts that there is little potential for profit in the server market and puts its full force behind its real asset, Java, then it has a chance to survive. As it stands, the companies making money from Java are IBM, BEA, etc. Sun realizes this and that's why they will never relinquish control of Java to a standards group.
