I'm looking for recommendations for books to learn what's new in Java 1.5 and 1.6.
I programmed Java for several years up to Java 1.4 and have been away from it for a couple of years and need to get caught up.

Go onto our Bunkhouse Books page. Clicking on the Amazon links will pay JavaRanch a modest commission on the purchase. [I don't get a penny of it!]

For an experienced programmer, try Horstmann and Cornell.

There are all sorts of links on the Sun website to "what's new in Java," like this one. I hope that's of use
