Dock Icon Bouncing

is there any way to create a Mac-Like dock icon bouncing effect in java...?

Ofcourse that's possible. You can program anything you like in Java. If you're interested in programming great looking GUIs with fancy effects with Swing, then I'd recommend you the book Filthy Rich Clients.

thanks for the suggestion....i actually found a way to create this effect in swing thanks to the reference you made regarding "filthy rich clients"...(there are alot of web tutorials and bloggs with suggestions on how to go about this)...
