How feasible is it to use Ruby on a platform like the AS400?
I don't know anything about Ruby, but am interested in what it can do to replace some legacy language.

As long as you have an interpreter for that platform, you should be good. JRuby has released their 1.0 version not too long ago, that may be an option for you (plus you get access to all the Java APIs).
