Hi Ramesh,
You can think of small projects like
1. A time tracking sheet for a small oraganization with say, around 15 employees. Consider that they work on different projects and the Organization wants to know how much time is put in by each employee on each projects everyday. This tracking information can then be used to invoice to the Clients showing the no. of man hours spent plus you can make different reports ( weekly / monthly project-wise, employee-wise) for paying overtime or increment in salary etc; You may use a MS access to create the database.
2. A monitoring system for a video cassette library which keeps track of details of hiring of various cassettes by the members.

Hope this will help u in making your basics very thorough.
Regards-------Pradeep
