I am an absolute beginner to Java, though I do have C programming knowledge. And I want to appear for the Java Certification Exams by the next month (See I have a month's vacation). So please suggest me some books which will enable me to muster the language as well as help me prepare for the exams. Frankly, is it possible to clear the exams in one month?

You really should ask this question in the Programmer Certification Study forum, but this time we'll let it go.
One month is NOT very long. I hope you know ALOT about Object Oriented theory and are very good at c.
However perhaps you are more clever than me.
