what a great site! i've just begun learning java and stumbled upon
your site via a link at javalobby.com
this post is to introduce myself (do folks really *do* that anymore?)
my primary os is BeOS but since they don't have full java support
yet (should be soon ) i've taken up the challenge and installed
mandrake 7.2 linux on a spare partition.
i've got the j2sdk1.3 installed and can write a little program with
the "advanced editor", compile it, and run it. yippee!
downloaded jEdit3.0.2 from sourceforge.com but can't get the dern
thing to run...
nice to be here.

Nice to have you here with us.
BTW, I still use WordPad or NotePad, so don't let the editor slow you down.
