You can associate .jar files with winzip utility in Windows Environment.

I havent tried this on jar files yet. but it handles all kinds of compressed files in a very easy way.
You can do it from the DOS window like Frank showed you, or do like Siva said, or get powerarchiver. http://powerarchiver.efront.com/
I guess im plugging it cause I like it.
