I remember about seven or eight months ago looking at the gems spec to see what you needed to do to create a gem. There are a lot of things in that spec! Possibly too many to just get started. I know there are rake tasks and some other little scripts you can write or find to help out. Yesterday I saw hoe (http://seattlerb.rubyforge.org/hoe/), which looked like the easiest way to get started. What do you recommend / what's the best way to get starting making your own gems?

The easiest and quickest way is using Dr. nic's new gem creator to bundle your ruby lib into a nice gem.
