Many Java programmers are not up on all the intricacies of MS-Windows programming, which we view as platform-dependant and therefore unimportant. There are several things that you and/or Microsoft might mean by "mailslot communication". If you mean electronic mail, there is a Java Mail api that I discuss in Chapter 19 of my Java Cookbook. If you mean something like "mailbox inter-process communication", I don't know of an API that does this directly, but you can simulate it within a Java program using Threads which rendezvous.

So, can you say a bit more about what you're looking for, if not one of those two things?

Yes I've worked with the mailslot API long long time ago. It's an interprocess mechanism which run on WINDOWS platform only. I'd suggest that you look into JMS (Java Message Service) or the Java socket APIs.
