hi there,
sir thank u very much for replying my question .act i had to write that i shut my computer down n i started it on dos mode.sir what i think that when i copied class file to dos prompt, then, dos accepted only "cla Extension" instead of "class Extension".n it happened because file was taken from windows which has a 32 bit FAT and it was copied to DOS which has 16 bit FAT,so bec of that less FAT space ,class file did not work in the DOS enviornment.sir my question was "java is platform independent",if it is so,then y it is not working in DOS mode.it means that it is not platform independent.i hope sir that u will answer it as kindly as u did previously.
thank u very much for ur help

That is like saying:
I changed the .exe extension to .exx and now it doesn't work. Who ever wrote it didn't make an executeable file.
