If your company or you could use an application to make your life/job easier what would it be? The application does not have to exsist. It could be a wild dream. I am bored and need something to discuss.

Judging by the customers I see in pre-sales meetings, an application that costs nothing, requires no maintenance or updating, and runs as fast as shit would be first on the list. If it just made money while you went to lunch, that would be good. Write it in any manner you would like, but have it production by tomorrow and just leave the instructions for running it on an index card. Free onsite tech support is also a requirement.
Ain't no cure for them summertime blues, Eric. Go to the beach.

I can not goto the beach when I am stuck insides the four wals of my cubicle. What you just said is the definition of spam. Maybe I should start spamming myself, I can write a notecard that says push the button.
hmmm

Eric,
Convert your games to use Java on the back-end and we'll post them here on JavaRanch so your server isn't always overwhelmed. We'll make it a demo in using Java and a demo in using JavaScript. We'll open the source up to everybody to see how it works and to provide suggestions on improvement.
We'll create a whole new area of JavaRanch devoted to learning Java by tinkering with games: The Fishing Pond.
What do you think?

I think that it may be the virtual company software, all the things in company is same as virtual company, and the software including all the multi-media tools(for monitoring)so that the staff can work at home wherever the staff live.

A virtual profiling engine would be a cool thing to have.
Set up a framework such that you can design and virtually assemble a system,
say on SPARC v9 architecture. Feed it an application file set and let it tell you roughly how much it would cost in instruction time to run the application under various pre-determined data loads.
If you could do that for Oracle applications running on Solaris, you'd make jillions.

Most companies have the ability to work from home with using the internet.
Now I was talking about this with another Rancher and we were thinknng of some sort of connection central where meetings could be held. You would need a very secure network to run this on and heavily password protected. Is that what you are talking about?

EP: So you are trying to avoid the development servers that this would usually run on?
ME: Absolutely. The cost in time and contractual commitments required to profile an application, say, on a SunFire Midframe server, makes it prohibitive to bring new customers in the market.
Some customers have time to schedule benchmarks in a platform center, but Sun usually requires an agreement to buy if the benchmark levels are met. Problem is, in order to reach an agreement, the customer wants the testing center to commit to a fairly high level of performance achieved in testing, and Sun wants a relatively conservative benchmark. A virtual profiler would give any customer a better idea of what to expect and Sun greater confidence in setting a reasonable standard for performance.
Then, if you could run that virtual emulation on a 2-way CPU emulated environment, such as a SunBlade, just about anyone with reasonable means can afford a dry run. Not only that, that platform's a whole lot more portable. It could be a very powerful sales tool.

No,it is not only for netmeeting
Most companies have the ability to work from home with using the internet.
I see that point and netmeeting is common for some companies but the requirement for transmitting(transfer rite) of the image is so high and the request of using the netmeeting is just for a few hours per week.Nowaday, without any company is complete virtual and without software given for a virtual company.
You can draw pictures pictures to each other on that.
I think that if drawing the picture for the staff is meaningless but drawing the picture on what is the staff doing is the best(monitoring the computer)
LOL

Automated WebApp Creator (AWAC). Input UserType, DataType, Domain, click "Create" and Hey presto! Bob's your uncle and Fanny's your aunt. Then I can concentrate on drinking coffee and staring out the window.

So on the one hand you have work.
And on the other hand you have donuts, ice cream, and grilled cheese sandwiches with jam.
Yeah, that's a tough choice.

Unlike the many lean, taut, fat-free console junkies that write web pages all day long, then pester the denizens of MD for homework assignments.

I think the world needs more of me. I should program a robot of me. It can talk like me. Act like me. Hey it would be just like me. I would make it laugh like me. See like me.
Man it is a slow day.

Yeah ... I'd also have more time to workout and practice my 'flexing' for the delight of the ladies.
