I'm wondering if someone could point me towards the source for a really (read: REALLY) basic message board. I need to write one and I'm thinking I'd rather just start with something existing and make modifications. If it's too feature packed I'll probably find it too difficult to work with (I'm still a java newbie). Thanks!

The only such stuff that I know that is in Java is the Jive Open Source Project. However apparently it is no longer open source/free (although $100 bucks is darn cheap).
JavaRanch itself is built on UBB which is not a Java product.
