I saw another post in this JavaRanch site that was immensly helpful, and got me all squared away, but I have one tiny little issue still. I am running forte (Sun Microsystems) for Java on Mandrake 8.1 Linux. Jdk1.3 runs like a charm to compile from the command prompt. when I try to install forte though with >sh forte4j_multiuser.sh I get "cannot find JDK in <PATH>, please set JAVA_PATH. every time I change the JAVA_PATH in the .bash_profile, the error message channges to reflect my change in <PATH>.... where the heck dose forte need to look to see the JDK? I can point it anywhere I want (the error always reflects the change I make, so it IS seeing my JAVA_HOME, I'm just not pointing to the correct place.... currently I am sending it to /home/mquigley/jdk1.3, but this don't work. Any tips are great!!! ------------------ Mark Quigley Mark@Quigley.net
