Does the J2ME engine support Sockets? I have seen conflicting information that says it does and doesn't, I've also seen the same thing for the Datagram as well? I have been able to send data using a StreamConnection and having the protocol set to HTTP but if I set it to Socket and send it, it fails on the recv'n end?
Thanks

No. CLDC 1.0 does not support sockets/datagrams. But obviously the vendor can add OEM class libs to support it - but this will not be portable.
I've read that the next generation J2ME http://www.jcp.org/jsr/detail/68.jsp will consider adding sockets etc..
