Serial I/O

I posted a msg yesterday asking about serial communications, so I am reposting a more descriptive msg in accordance with Ranch policies. I am trying to find out if I have incorrect syntax or possibly some other reason why, when in a CodeWarrior debug session, I try an execute the command to connect to a COM port and it fails? Below is the line of code doing the connect:
sc = (StreamConnection)"comm:1;baudrate=4800;databits=8;parity=none;stopbits=1;flowcontrol=Hardware",Connector.READ_WRITE);
Should I be using another type for the connection? Is there documentation somewhere that discusses the EXACT parameters of what you can pass? I have searched all over and been unable to find anything on and numerous other sites.
Thank You

Thank You.
However, I have read that the COMMAPI can't run on a J2ME MIDP MIDlet, do you know if that's correct? That's why I stuck with trying to use the microedition Connector but if it will work I suppose getting the COMMAPI is a more specific solution.
With a little knowledge, a cast iron skillet is non-stick and lasts a lifetime.
