Uploading an entire folder using Java

I am making websites for some teachers at a public high school. Part of this site will allow them to post web pages of individual student grades generated by another program, but this necesitates a file upload of >60 files for each time they update the grades, which makes the standard way of uploading using a form and "Browse..." completely impractical.
So, I was wondering if anyone can help me write a script (or write one for me ) that would allow the users to upload an entire folder (and the files within the folder, of course) to the server. I am mainly a Perl programmer, but I'm in the process of learning JAVA.
I appreciate all the help I can get...source code, suggestions, tips, whatever.
