Observer & Observable

i have a frame which has a class toolbar and class menubar. After pressing any buttons on the 2 classes, it will pop up a dialog box. how can i implement observer and observable to update the frame after the changes done on the dialog box?

i think by making the frame observer and the dialog observable.
