This week's book giveaway is in the OCAJP 8 forum. We're giving away four copies of OCA Java SE 8 Programmer I Study Guide and have Edward Finegan & Robert Liguori on-line! See this thread for details.
Hey, I am trying to make the background of a frame so that it is a kind of see through grey colour, so that whatever is behind the frame is still visible. Is this possible? If so any help greatly appreciated. Cheers James
You could eventually get a JInternalFrame to exhibit this behavior, but not a JFrame. A JFrame is a native-OS peer; it's drawn by the native platform. Most platforms don't give you the ability to have translucent frames. Mac OS X does this, but this is certainly not a pure-java feature, and you would have to use some Mac-specific library to achieve this.
