Clearing an applet

i am new to java and i am learning pretty good but right now i am stuck i am using 3 books and none of them go over how to call one applcation from another for example i want a main screen then you click on a button there and it takes you to another screen your basic menu system(Back, Next, etc...) i have the two class files that work great when you run them seperately but when calling each other i have problems if anyone could help i would be very greatfull

You should have a look at the java.awt.CardLayout
