how can I increase the size of the area of JCheckbox where the check appears? Increasing the size of the JCheckbox seems to be inrcreasing only the size of the surrounding area

hi,
Have u tried
setPreferredSize(Dimension preferredSize) method of JComponent?
JChekBox myCheckBox = new JCheckBOx();
myCheckBox.setPreferedSize(new Dimension(100,100));
I think it would give you the size u want.
regards,
madhav
