I hope this isn't a really dumb question: If you install J2EE, do you have everything that's in J2SE plus the server stuff, or do you have to have J2SE and J2EE on top of that, or do you basically have to choose? Like, if you want to do server stuff and Swing stuff at the same time, what do you need to have installed to do that? And what version of J2SE do you use? - SA
Nope, they're different. J2EE comes with completely different source files than J2SE, different executables, etc. If you want to do Swing and server side programming (servlets, JSP), you'll have to get both. For Swing, I could be wrong but I believe you need 1.3 or later.
