I apologize for this question, I wish there was a pre-beginner forum.
I'm trying to install MM.MySQL from these docs
http://mmmysql.sourceforge.net/doc/mm.doc/x68.htm
I don't know where to install MM.MySQL. Is there a standard directory for such things?

There is no default place to install the files, you can put them wherever you like on your computer. That's why one of the steps is to set the classpath
