Help needed for running for this runtime code

This is real frustration. it is just driving me nuts..why following code neither giving me any error nor it is executing..I was simply trying to update my jar file as I failed to do same through program(I know a bad coding example, but as it is again a frustrating at this moment to find a solution,i've no other option)
can you help me for this:-

Don't add "cmd" in front of "jar uf install.jar model.ins" and it will execute. It worked for me.

Try the following code also but in vain and surprisingly it is also not giving me any error...Am I doing somthing wrong?
Any suggestin please...

Are yo sure you have insta.jar and model.ins in the same directory from which you are running java code
Try to run the command from the prompt and check if it works.

yes these files DO EXISTS...and if I run it from command prompt it runs very well...MAking life more frustrating for me the following code also does not execute on my computer properly..It only execute if I replace cmdArray with "notepad" but if i try with "ping,tracert,ftp etc" it never gets executed..and surprisingly it never give me error too!!...
Any other suggestion please...
