Are there any good report writers for Java which do not require developers to pay royalties when deployed and are not stand alone apps and have a gui interface? We are considering Java for development platform. Mostly client/server but some Internet. Trying to decide between M$ net and java. Report writer is one concern. Any use something in java they like. Not just something someone has heard about please.
Thanks,
Paul

JFreeReport is probably the most popular. It is free, but you have to pay for documentation if you need it. I did, and the docs don't help. So I don't recomend buying the documentation. It's still hard to find support for the API though. I have asked questions about it in various places and no one answers.
But like I said, it is about the most popular.
