The Feast of the Epiphany is a religious holiday. I haven't heard of any relationship to java other than perhaps a "greeting card" java applet for the occasion.

Epiphany can also mean a (usually sudden) perception of the essential nature or meaning of something, so someone may speak of experiencing an epiphany while they are learning something new about java ...

I did google search on this term but couldn't find any relevant result besides the applet that you are talking about.
I read about this in one of the job requirement ads, since I had not heard abt it earlier, I thought I might as well ask what it is. May be I am missing sth...
