When i try to copy and paste code from this cool place called Javaranch forums, to test things for myself, i encounter a strange phenomena with text that has been marked "code" ... it does not copy the returns in, so when i paste it into TextPad, it just appears as one long line... is there a way around this?

actually i just thought of a way around it.. click on the 'quote' button, then copy the code itself within that box that comes up...pastes fine after that.

I usually copy it into Word and copy it back into my editor from there Your suggestion is also good. Thanks Sri

nice idea Sri, i had assumed that TextPad would have the same capability as Word, but obviously not, so i must try this technique. btw - TextPad is really cool, it puts automatic formating as you type java code(if the file is saved first as something.java).
