How do i unescape a string. I am using IBM portal server and when i submit html through a form, the content is automatically escaped.
ie; <p>hello</p> becomes <p>hello</p>
i have looked through the api and cant seem to find a way. thanks!

i realize that the two about strings look the same, but one is actually escaped, but is displayed like the other in the browser.

What sort of "escaped" do you mean? Can you describe in words what has happened to the individual characters? Are there new \ or / of & or some other char being inserted?
