hello there, I am a beginneer in Java and I would like to create a "telephone directory" program. In concern to that, I am totally ignorant on how to create a database that stores the name, address and telephone number. Please help. Please guide me on what to do and the basics of it. Perhaps, you can show and explain to me the codes regarding to that. Thanks a lot to all!

You might like to mosey on over and check out The Ol' JavaRanch Cattle Drive. The last section offers a nice and gentle introduction to database stuff.
