Hello,
I’ve developed a desktop application written in Java and am going to put it on CDs to distribute it to my clients. I want to provide everything necessary to run my application on that CD, so that they don’t have to download or install anything from elsewhere. The clients use Windows 98 platform, with no JDK or JRE installed on their machines.
I want to know what should be put on that CD, other than package containing my application’s classes and user manuals? Should I provide both JDK and JRE, or only JRE is enough to run the application?
Also, I’ll really appreciate it if u can suggest a packaging tool for Java application that works like MS Visual Studio, creating all necessary things and packaging an application for installing.
Regards

Hi Renu,
Just the JRE is enough to run the Java applications. For Installers, have a look at this url
http://www.codework.com/installanywhere/product.html
Hope this helps

And you may want to take a look at JavaWorld's article on InstallAnywhere.
